Product Development Assistant (R&D Assistant)(Nonexempt)

【Main Responsibilities】

Various assistant services in product development

 

【Job Description】

  1. Understand the characteristics, functions, and prices of raw materials, our products and their manufacturing methods, and understand customer requirements.
  2. Prepare product samples based on recipes.
  3. Input and manage various types of data.
  4. Conduct new or improved product trials based on customer requests.
  5. Transfer raw materials required by the development department from the in-house warehouse or procure them externally.
  6. Inventory management of raw materials used in the department.
  7. Perform other tasks as directed by supervisors as needed (including handling/lifting raw materials weighing approximately 50 pounds).

【Eligibility】

  • High school graduation or higher (Preference will be given to those who have studied or majored in Food Science at a university).
  • 1–2 years of work experience in a food company and/or basic knowledge of food product development.
    → Based on experience, work history, etc., a separate salary is set.
  • 1–2 years of experience in product trials at a food company.

 

【Required Skills】  

  • Basic knowledge of product development in food manufacturing or a strong willingness to learn these skills.
  • Ability to blend and cook ingredients.
  • Communication skills that value teamwork, as the role involves collaboration with multiple departments.
  • Analytical skills to gather data and contribute to product development by understanding the company’s environment and market conditions.
  • Business-level proficiency in English and Native-level proficiency in Japanese .
    → Ability to understand and explain tastes and flavors in Japanese and English.
  • Ability to lift and handle items weighing approximately 50 pounds (handling raw materials).

 

【Location】         Santa Fe Springs, CA

【Working hours】 Mon~Fri:08:30 – 17:30, with overtime

【Reporting to】   R&D Staff, R&D Supervisor and/or Manager

【Salary】           $19～$23/hr (Nonexempt）
